Nova's Logo- Final Outcomes

After much discussion and consideration amongst our group, the logos with the highest amount of votes are below.
We settled on the text called 'Arenq' which we found on DA font as the design for our logo for our artist 'Nova'. One of the reasons behind selecting this text is because it is so versatile. There are many ways we could manipulate it such as by altering the thickness of the line in order to create more of a bold statement- this way our artist can stand out amongst the rest. We would like the logo to be as prominent as possible when placed on our album cover so that it doesn't blend in with the background image, again, which is why we need to consider the weight of line. I also think that the logo appears very professional and could easily look like it belongs on an album cover as it also has quite an edgy style which was what we were aiming for. I believe that this text will be very effective and successful in terms of representing Nova as it is dynamic, modern and simplistic.
This is our final logo for our record label that we created called 'Opal Records'. We chose to select 'Sandre' as our final font as we felt that this font was most aesthetically pleasing and professional- a look we are constantly striving for. Whilst in the process of making this decision, we all agreed that it needed a little improvement in order for it to qualify for our album cover- this was in making it look most realistic and professional. We did this by selecting a much slimmer, light weight, spread out font beneath 'OPAL' saying the word 'Records'. We all decided that this new addition makes the logo look much more formal and business-like. We believed that our original font was still the most successful as it looks most current and modern; with the lines within the letters having strong links to the music industry as they can be interpreted as guitar strings or piano keys- therefore the combination of both fonts, as a whole, looks the most successful. We want our logo to remain in a black font in order to secure its slick and business look that we are going for, which is also beneficial to us too as it means we would not have to manipulate it as much.
